  • Back to Stockholm, part 2
  • Sat. Nov, 6 2004

Sat. Nov, 6 2004Coming back home at 10AM, Nico and I tried finding opened shops to buy foods for the breakfast, in order to awake our host the best way we could. However, we simply forgot that this 5th of November was a national day here, in Sweden (for a reason we still ignore), so, everything was closed. Fortunately, we found a coop and bought some foods directly escaped from the bakery oven...
So we arrived home and discovered a sleeping Alex, quite happy to smell our presents. A quick breakfast was improvised and, taking benefit of the Stripperella week-end on a famous musical channel (no advertisements here!), we just had a second night until the beginning of the afternoon...
Around 3PM, we decided to move in the city in order to get a tour of Gamla Stan I only saw from the road (!). Unfortunately, the weather decided to shorten our promenade and a stop at a pub was necessary. A good opportunity to eat a sausage-and-egg toasted sandwich with Guinness. After a few hours, we had to tear off our hearts and leave this very sympathetic English waitress to go back home and have dinner, just to be ready for the coming big party...
So, only four hours after the salving sandwich, we simply gulped the dinner Alex and Nico cooked: We were finally ready to welcome Alex' guests. The first one (the only one who arrived on time) was Yoshi. Despite his surprise to find 4 French guys watching the adventures of a stripping star, he started enjoying the party with us and discovered Ricard as well as Serge Gainsbourg. Did we make him a fan? Of S. Gainsbourg, maybe not. Of Ricard, maybe more...
After Yoshi, arrived Edward (a Malaysian guy) and his two nice Spanish friends (working in London), Olivier, G?raud, T?r?se... until Katrin and Sandra, who were the last. Alex discovered his gifts and simply enjoyed this party where no SystemBolagets have been robbed (for, there were all closed on Saturday). Enjoyed so much that he almost forgot that we had to move not too late to enter the Debaser. So, we did. 45 minutes later than planned but we did. Finally, we just waited around 15 minutes to come in and the party lasted until early in the Sunday morning, after a very delighting double Whooper med ost och bacon (but no trademarks here!)...
So, I think I can simply say that, even if I still have to visit Stockholm seriously, this week-end was great and meeting all this nice people helped us spending good time for approximately 48 hours non-stop... Now, I just have a few days to sleep and prepare myself for the Mathieu's coming back to Sweden and this 3-days long week-end (only for him, because, here, no national day on November, 11th)...
