- Hikari Shinkansen
- Wed. Mar, 2nd 2005
As any day dedicated to transfert, this day is not particularly noticeable.
Once the check-out completed and some 100えん円 coins spent on Internet station at the hotel, I headed to とうきょう東京 JR station to catch the first しんかんせん新幹線 bound for Kyoto I could. After a good sweaty promenade in とうきょう東京 transports (carrying my 35K luggage up and down in the stairs), I finally arrived at the JR counter for my first しんかんせん新幹線 ticket in 2005. I just had one hour to recover from my sports tour (that wasn't too much actually) and then, I just sat in the train, enjoyed my べんとう弁当 (still very fond of their white bread たまご卵 sandwich) and have a good sleep (a kind of tradition for me, and many Japanese as I could see) before arriving at きょうと京都.
There, stuck with my two luggages (there wasn't any coin locker big enough...), I just sat at the Café du Monde waiting for Makoto, normally coming in three hours. So, I spent time drinking coffee, iced tea... and watching this station life... Finally, Makoto arrived and easily identified me (nobody dared coming across all the luggages I have to sit close to the only gaijin of the bar, me). And after the usual welcome cheers, we could go to his home, via the bus #73...
