The match by Sam:
The return match against Ronneby was a lot closer than the away match Lugi played against the same team some weeks ago. With the wind in their backs Lugi was able to use it to their advantade and score some good "kick and run" tries in the first half, leading at one stage in the first half 19 - 10. The big Ronneby backs and third row combined well to score tries and left the score at half-time 19 - 22 in Ronneby's favour. After half time Lugi could not use the previous tactic and were forced to be on the back foot for most of the period despite some good scrumming and forward play only one try was scored by the home side. The visitors continued to burst through the Lugi tackles and ended up deserved winners and leading the table with unbeaten record. Unfortunately Lugi have to say goodbye to many good foreign players who are leaving our shores after much good rugby and commitment. Pierre had been here 2 years and was a great help with the coaching this term; Ross from Scotland who has been regularly training ever since August and from claiming not to have player rugby before has come through to be a valuable jumper in the line and a great tackle breaking runner. Norrie who joined us only in January has hardly missed a training and whose weight and experience in the front row helped us enormously (Norrie also won the drinking competition and took the prize home to Scotland, no surprise there some might say). We are also hoping to see the return of Kristoffer and Mattias after the summer holidays who are now in Stockholm and Halmstad respectively under the summer months.
