So today, I finally met Momo san, the guy from the All Jin Jan rugby club I have been talking with since the end of August. Actually, I went to é‹ÊŒ§ to see the team play (and win) and also discover the club and its atmosphere.
I have to say that I have been really well surprised by what I have lived that day. In the ŽR“c‚³‚ñ's car, first on the way to the pitch. We discussed all together and spent the hour talking about everything, in Japanese or in English. Nice. Then, despite a very Š¦‚¢ weather, the show was really good. Physically impressive and perfectly disciplined, our team (yes, I say our) played well and scored some tries (some were really good). However, it seems that the backs are not used as they could. Humm, as the fullback I'll try to be, I think I will have to review that point...
Then, the clubhouse of the opponent team (I'll remember the town name, someday, I swear!) was really good: wide, TV, bar... We stood there for an hour eating excellent Japanese food and drinking a couple of beers (for free) and listening to all the awards given for the past season in that league. League won by the All Jin Jan...
At the moment to leave, half of the team and supporters asked us (Mika came along with me to enhance her knowledge of rugby) whether we were interested in having a dinner all together in a small restaurant. We agreed and find ourselves in a good Japanese seafood restaurant. Nice! We all ate and drank more than needed but that was delicious. Moreover, at the end, to welcome me, the team players agreed on offering me (and Mika) the dinner... Really nice, isn't it? So, now, I owe them one!
Ahh, I'm really looking forward to playing with them and celebrating victories with them. Even if, unfortunately, Japan is a country, like Sweden, where you don't sing in the showers... Maybe one of the "French thing" they are looking for that I will teach them!
